With GPS you can navigate through unchartered territories and easily locate any position on various maps

There was a time when finding your way to a location meant asking people passing by and blindly following directions given by them without knowing whether they are right or wrong. However, here too, technology has come to our rescue. With its help, you can now pinpoint your location on a map with just a click of the mouse. You can even click your pictures and share it with your friends instantly giving them details about the time, location where they were taken and even its longitude and latitude. And all this has been made possible due to GPS ( Global Positioning System)It is basically a system, which uses satellite communication to connect with your handset and accurately pinpoint the desired location anywhere on earth. These days all high-end mobile phones are GPS or A-GPS (Assisted Global Positioning System) enabled. The most common GPS applications are Qualcomm Quick GPS and SiRF Star III GPS from SiRF Technology.A-GPS is the latest technology that dramatically improves the performance of GPS receivers using an assistance server (usually mobile cell sites) to provide satellite data that receivers would ordinarily have to download from GPS satellites. This means that the real time reception for A-GPS is lesser compared to GPS. The integration of GPS into a mobile phone has many advantages and A-GPS is even better when compared to plain vanilla GPS capabilities on mobile phones.
